National League permutations: 16 Apr 2016

Here are the highest and lowest possible positions that each National League club can occupy after this weekend’s fixtures. I’ve drawn lines under the last play-off spot, mid-table and the last spot above the relegation zone on both “axes” for ease of reference.

At the top of the table neither Cheltenham nor Forest Green can be budged from their positions this weekend, thanks to six and eight-point cushions respectively.

The battle for the final play-off place remains intense, with both Braintree and Eastleigh capable of displacing Tranmere from fifth if they slip up at home to Wrexham.

The relegation battle looks likely to go down to the final weekend, with both Boreham Wood and Altrincham looking to escape the upper two places in the bottom four. Only Halifax can be dragged into it this weekend, meaning that at least one of the aforementioned two will be staying put for now.
