League 2 permutations: final day
Here are the highest and lowest possible positions that each League 2 club can occupy after this season’s final round of matches. I’ve drawn lines under the last play-off spot, mid-table and the last spot above the relegation zone on both “axes” for ease of reference.

With the title and the play-off race settled, all eyes will be on the automatic promotion battle between Accrington, Oxford and Bristol Rovers. All three are playing their final matches at home, so we’re likely to see a few celebratory pitch invasions at the final whistle.
Outside the play-off zone there’s plenty of movement possible, but much will depend on the level of motivation from those sides no longer able to catch Wimbledon in seventh.
Other than the Dons and champions Northampton, Barnet are the only club who already know where they’ll be finishing this season. The Bees have a four point gap above them and an eight point cushion over Hartlepool below.
Beneath them there’s plenty of shuffling possible, even if the relegation battle is over. Yeovil and Morecambe are particularly mobile and both are also finishing their respective campaigns in front of their own fans.
