Derby recovered well from conceding early at home to Birmingham by dominating the match thereafter; the visitors weren’t able to muster a single shot after the interval. Both Reading and Bristol City scored from their first shots and traded goals again just before the interval, but despite the visitors having the better of the second half it was the Royals who snatched a precious winner. Norwich recovered from an early penalty miss to demolish Sheffield Wednesday after half time, while two second half Rotherham spot kicks represented the lion’s share of their attacking output in an otherwise flat performance at home to Swansea.
