What’s still possible: Championship, 6 Jul 2020

The way the graphic below works is pretty straightforward and it’s exactly the same idea as the weekly permutations: the outer bar shows what’s mathematically possible over the rest of the season while the inner chart is a distribution of what’s actually likely to happen based on my latest model predictions.

Any of the current top six could still technically finish top, with Leeds and West Brom already guaranteed at least a play-off place. Everyone from Millwall downwards could still be relegated, although the chances are that Wigan’s 12-point penalty will kick in once the season is over. This also means that while 17th-placed Birmingham could still mathematically reach the play-offs, the Latics won’t even if results all go their way.
