I was very happy to be the inaugural guest on Squawka‘s new Football IQ podcast this week, hosted by George Elek (whom some of you may know as one half of the “Not the Top 20” EFL podcast team).

After a bit of background on how I got into football data analysis we break down some of the main concepts – like the expected goals I use heavily – with specific examples of clubs and players, what they can add to coverage of the game and how the field might evolve in the future.
